CFG-FGD. Jesse Alonzo MALTBIE, b. Apr. 17, 1814, Norfolk, Ct. (Elon 5, Benj. 4, Dan. 3, Dan. 2, Wm. 1). m. Feb. 20, 1838, Apphia FOWLER, dau. of Chauncey B. and Apphia (Twining) Fowler, b. Mar. 4, 1808, Granville, Mass. She d. Feb. 12, 1894 at Vineland. They removed to South Vineland in 1867-8. They were Communicants at Norfolk, March, 1857. He d. Aug. 9, 1900, at Philadelphia.

 	Children:
CFG-FGD-a.  Anna F. Maltbie, b. June 15, 1847, Tolland, Mass.;
                            d. Mch. 20, 1866, South Vineland, N.Y.
CFG-FGD-b.  Louise H.  "     b. Sept. 22, 1849, Sandisfield.

Note. Theodore Mills, nephew of Appia Fowler, was adopted by Jesse Alonzo Maltbie and wife when an infant and was given the name Maltbie. He was b. Apr. 30, 1842; res. Granby, Ct. He had two children, Anna b. July 6, 1875, and William, b. July, 1880; Yale Law School. It must be remembered that these Maltbies have no Maltbie blood. In a personal letter from Mr. William Mills Maltbie he states very candidly that the family regret ever having taken any other name than that of Mills, and they certainly do not like to use a name they are not entitled to by blood.
